Surf Curse Live at Gramps in Miami

Surf Curse / Sour Windows at Gramps Wynwood in Miami (5/12/23)

This show was sooo fucking sick, hands down one of the best shows i've ever been to at Gramps and i think the most packed i've ever seen it in my life personally. Surf Curse played Heathers, Goth Babe, Freaks and a bunch of the OG's from the first two albums as well as a bunch of newer songs from their more recent albums and people were fucking chanting those words with all their hearts, it was fucking amazinggg.

[Shoutsout to John from Breakeven Booking for setting up this legendary show <3]

When we got there the line went to the end of the block and thats that there was already a bunch of people inside watching the opening band Sour Windows. This was the second show of Two Sold out Surf Curse shows at Gramps. The First one was on wednesday and apparently it was just as packed.

Surf Curse came on stage to the song Firestarter by The Prodigy which was funny as fuck and after they made their introductions they started playing "Heathers" as their first song. As soon as they started, everyone in the crowd started moving around and dancing and screaming those words and it was so siick to see. I remember being in High School and seeing rowdy ass live videos of Surf Curse at venues like The Smell (legendary Downtown LA all ages venue) where everyone was singing all the songs word for word and multiple people would be crowd surfing at the same time and it all looked sooo rowdy and funn and this show at Gramps felt like one of those shows. *

* (Specifically there was this one video of them playing The Smell in 2013 where they played Chloe Kelly as their first song but before they started they did a quick sound check and already during the sound check everyone in the crowd got so rowdy and people started crowdsurfing lol just during the SOUNDCHECK and i was like yo wtf this is sooo sick. And then when the song actually started everyone just went even harder. I think whoever had that video up on youtube must've taken it down because i haven't been able to find it in a while which fucking sucks but theres other videos on youtube of that same show of them playing Heathers and The Smell Saved My Life)

Everyone in the crowd was having such a good time and was sooo into the whole thing, it was like one of those shows where literally everyone is best friends with each other just cause you're sharing that moment together. There'd be moments where some random person would put their arm around me just cause we're both yelling the words to Disco or Forever Dumb or any other song in their set and it was so fucking wholesome. At some point multiple people would be crowdsurfing at the same time while the pit was still rowdy as fuck and Surf Curse is just going at it, like specifically Nick (Rattigan, singer/drummer) would be singing his heart out, sweating like crazy, beating the fuck out of his cymbals while all of that is going on and the whole thing felt so insane and emotional. This was one of the best shows i've been to in Miami in the past couple years and it definitely felt like a change in the right direction in terms of better live shows and more bands being able to play down here.
